Event Overview
A hands-on workshop designed as part of fatherhood activities, focusing on the basic repair and maintenance of small battery-powered appliances.
Course Content
Participants will learn practical skills through the following modules:
- Battery Classification & Safety: Understanding different battery types and important handling precautions.
- Tool Introduction: Learning about and how to use a multimeter and a soldering iron.
- Battery Diagnostics: Checking the status and health of batteries.
- Cleaning & Maintenance: Instructing participants on how to clean contaminants from devices.
- Appliance Components: Identifying basic parts of an appliance: power source, switch, button, motor, speaker, and light.
- Repair Practice: Checking appliance status, connecting wires, and testing the results of repairs.
Important Notes
- Each participant is encouraged to bring one faulty small dry-battery appliance for practical exercises.
- It is recommended to bring the relevant new batteries for the appliance.
Registration & Practical Info
- Target Audience: Individuals aged 18 and above.
- Fee: MOP 20 for members / MOP 50 for non-members.
- Time: 15:00–17:00.
- Location & Registration Venue: Tecco Neighborhood Association (No. 76 Avenida de Horta e Costa).
- Capacity: 12 people (first-come, first-served).
