"Taoist Ritual Music" is the music used in Taoist ceremonial rites. Introduced to Macao from Guangdong in the late Qing Dynasty, it has evolved over more than a century, blending the styles of the Zhengyi and Quanzhen sects to become a uniquely local form of religious music. "Macao Taoist Ritual Music" was inscribed on the third batch of the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2011.
Visitors can appreciate this unique religious music at The Mandarin's House, while also taking the opportunity to explore this World Heritage Site within the "Historic Centre of Macao" – the largest surviving residential architectural complex in the territory – for an unforgettable experience.
