About the Talk
What does 'local identity' in creative work really mean? Why is it important for creators to depict and reflect the city we live in, and to seek inspiration from our surroundings? As a generation often labeled as 'youth' or 'the new generation,' how do we begin creating within the frameworks passed down from previous generations? Ultimately, what we need most is not to learn how to create, but to be ourselves.
The creative process always begins with a search for your real self and knowing the place where you live. Directors Heiward Mak and Kaki Sham will share their experiences on the way to inspiration.
