Sydney Valette is a revelation in the French underground electropop scene. With a provincial childhood, he moved to Paris at 18 to study philosophy. He soon immersed himself in the dark rhythms of the capital's nightclubs, playing classical piano in his tiny apartment by day. He eventually began producing his own electronic music, creating a unique blend of synth-pop-punk that is poetic, destructive, and deeply personal. Inspired by artists like Taxi Girl, Arthur Russell, and Depeche Mode, his music revives an informality often missing in modern pop.
His debut album, Plutôt Mourir que Crever (released in September 2011), explores his subconscious journey from a mystical childhood to the complexities of adulthood. The album was selected as Album of the Year by Technikart magazine, cementing his place as a bright spot in the contemporary music landscape.
This tour is organized by the Alliance Française network in China with the support of the Embassy of France in China and the French Institute - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of the Croisements Festival (中法文化之春藝術文化節).
