From ancient bronze to modern graphene, the evolution of materials has been driving the development of human civilization and technology, helping us meet various daily needs from clothing and food to housing and transportation. Many everyday items or their components, such as car windshields, titanium alloy eyeglass frames, and breathable waterproof clothing, are made from advanced composite materials. The success of high-tech projects like space exploration and minimally invasive surgery also relies on the research, development, and application of special functional materials.
"Strange Matter" is an interactive exhibition that deconstructs the subtle relationship between the function of common objects and the properties of their materials, unveiling the mysteries of materials science.
The exhibition also includes family workshops, the all-ages theatrical guided tour "When the Material Girl Meets the Magic Magician," and popular science lectures, offering various ways to learn about materials science.
