December 'Starry Sky' Astronomy Popularization Series

In December, the Macao Science Center will present three exciting events in the 'Starry Sky' astronomy popularization series.

Lecture: Space Resources and the Dream of an 'Earth-Moon Economic Sphere'

• Date: December 3, 2022
• Speaker: Professor Wing-Huen Ip, renowned Chinese astronomer, Academician of Academia Sinica, and Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics.
• Format: Online lecture streamed via the planetarium.
• Content: The public will be introduced to the current distribution of lunar resources, China's lunar exploration projects, and its manned spaceflight program.

Other Events in the Series

• December 10: 'Starry Sky: Observing Mars at Opposition' – The Science Center will set up two astronomical telescopes for public observation of Mars, with staff on-site to guide participants in operating the telescopes and explaining related astronomical knowledge.
• December 17: 'Starry Sky: Macao's "Aliens"' – Professor Wing-Huen Ip will host another online lecture via the planetarium to discuss exoplanets and biospheres with the public.
