Workshop Overview
Through this workshop, singer Mili Vizcaíno will conduct an extensive exploration of sound, utilizing elements from different cultures and training methods. The session combines vocal techniques, sound, and the coordination of the body in 'communication' within the context of improvisation.
Pianist Rui Filipe will also perform a solo during the workshop.

About Mili Vizcaíno
Mili Vizcaíno (Spain) is a singer, composer, and teacher of singing and harmonic ear training.
Musical Journey: She has studied sounds from diverse fields: jazz, Spanish music, Portuguese music, Latin American music, Western classical, and Indian classical music.
Education & Training:
- Studied classical piano and contemporary guitar.
- Bachelor's in Jazz from the University of Évora, Portugal.
- Master's in Jazz from the National Superior School of Music in Lisbon (studying under Maria João).
- Postgraduate in Children's Music Education from NOVA University Lisbon.
- Studied Art History at the University of Salamanca, Spain.
- Holds Level 1 & 2 Estill Voice Craft certificates (taught by Paul Farrington and Helen Rowson).
- Studied Body Alphabetics (under Jorge Parente) and Music Learning Theory (under Edwin Gordon).
Teaching Experience: For the past fourteen years, she has taught music in Spain, Portugal, and at the Swarnabhoomy Academy of Music in Chennai, India.

- INJUVE First Prize (Spain and Latin America).
- Best Soloist and Best Album Award (Sonora Awards, Extremadura, Spain).
- First Prize in Popular Music from Caja de Badajoz, Spain.
- Her composition "The human rights, your best instrument" was nominated for a Goya Award (Spanish Oscars).
Performances & Projects:
- Has performed at festivals like Womad (Cáceres, Spain), Latin Grammys (Las Vegas), and Viña del Mar, Chile.
- Sang backing vocals for Miguel Bosé's world tour "Papitour".
- Currently developing the piano and voice duo project Jangada de Pedra with pianist and composer Rui Filipe.
