Overview
The Social Audio-Visual Academy initiative aims to broaden the avenues for youth to express opinions and participate in society. Through the "Photovoice" and "Videovoice" programs, it trains young people passionate about social issues, provides a platform for exchanging ideas and opportunities for social engagement, and uses visual works to reflect social concerns, collect young voices, and explore youth perspectives on improving society.
Program Details
- Inception: The program began in 2008, recruiting youth interested in photography for a series of training and practical activities. Video training was added in 2011.
- Purpose: To encourage youth to apply their learned knowledge and provide a channel for them to share their voices with others. Since 2008, participants' work has been exhibited, allowing them to share their photography insights with the public and other youth. Participants also have the opportunity to join an exchange camp in Hong Kong!
Participant Information
- Target Audience: Macau youth aged 15 to 29.
- Fee: Completely free.
Awards & Incentives
- Outstanding Photo/Video Works (3 winners each): Awarded gift vouchers of MOP 1,500, MOP 1,000, and MOP 600 respectively, along with a commemorative trophy from the organizing bureau.
- Outstanding Social Issue Award: A gift voucher of MOP 600 and a commemorative trophy from the organizing bureau.
- Exhibition Participants: Everyone whose work is selected for exhibition will receive one 8x12 inch print of their personal work.
Certificate & Attendance
Participants with an attendance rate exceeding 80% and who complete the works specified by the instructor will receive a certificate of participation and one "Chon Keng Activity Centre Bowling Alley Usage Voucher."
