Remember the simple joy of creating animal shadows with your hands or chasing each other's shadows? This workshop aims to reconnect children with the magic of light and shadow, moving beyond screens to explore creative storytelling.
With just a lamp and an object, we can create fascinating illusions and wonderful performances. We want children to discover the fun of light and shadow, develop creativity through making paper puppets, improve hand-eye coordination, and learn teamwork through collaborative performance.
This process will gradually stimulate their imagination and unleash their most primal creative thinking.
In this workshop, children will:
1. Chen Lixiang From Penang, Malaysia. Graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts, Department of Fine Arts. Her creative direction spans installation art, photography, painting, and shadow play performance. She also participates in community art projects, such as artist-in-residence programs for learning and practice, and community-based learning initiatives for youth.
2. Wu Zhuanxuan From Penang, Malaysia. Enjoys finding stories in objects. In recent years, he has focused on exploring puppet theatre, striving to challenge the possibilities of puppetry. He has learned various contemporary and traditional puppetry techniques from local and British puppeteers and participated in a three-month children's drama teaching training program at "Sister Hong's Studio."
