Macau is a city where diverse cultures converge, bringing together customs from different regions. This month welcomes the traditional Filipino religious festival, the Santo Nino Fiesta. This festival honors the Holy Child Jesus and commemorates the conversion of the Filipino people to Christianity centuries ago. The public is invited to participate in nine consecutive days of Novena Masses and the culminating Festive Mass. During the Festive Mass, devotees carry the image of the Santo Nino (Holy Child Jesus) and dance to rhythmic music outside the church, performing the traditional two-step-forward, one-step-back dance, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere.
