The Cultural Affairs Bureau presents "Sailing Towards Dreams: Guo Huan Art Exhibition" at the No. 1 Maritime Workshop. This exhibition showcases over 40 works/sets by the artist Guo Huan (1940–2003).
Guo Huan was born in Guangdong, China, and moved to Macao in the 1980s. A passionate and determined artist, he co-founded the "Cultural Association of Modern Painting" after his move and was dedicated to promoting the development of visual arts in Macao. In 1997, he founded and served as the Director of the "Macao International Visual Art Centre." His exploration of artistic mediums, exhibitions, and cultural exchanges made significant contributions and had a profound impact on Macao's visual arts scene.
"Sailing Towards Dreams: Guo Huan Art Exhibition" is the inaugural exhibition held at the No. 1 Maritime Workshop. Located on Rua de S. Tiago da Barra, this venue was originally the Carlos I Dock Machine Room, the mechanical department of the former government shipyard used for shipbuilding and repair, holding special historical significance in Macao's history. Guo Huan's work is closely connected to Macao's living environment and culture. This exhibition aims to introduce this important Macao artist to local artists, residents, and visitors, inspiring the audience to explore the possibilities of Macao's artistic development.
