Sicilian Lyric Choir

Following their acclaimed performance in Macao two years prior, the 31st Macao International Music Festival is proud to welcome back the Sicilian Lyric Choir from Italy for a sacred music concert. Renowned worldwide, this choir specializes in symphonic and religious music, dedicated to promoting and showcasing authentic Italian musical traditions.

This evening, the choir will captivate the audience with their beautiful voices and pure tones, fully expressing the charm of sacred music. The program features a significant selection of works, including the Macao premiere of Vincenzo Bellini's Messa in G minor No. 2. The concert will also pay special tribute to local Macao heritage with performances of two works by Portuguese-Macanese composer Father Aureo da Costa: Tantum Ergo and Panis Angelicus. Additionally, the choir will perform Umberto Giordano's La Cena dei Re to commemorate the 150th anniversary of his birth.
