Dance possesses a thousand faces and forms—it can be glamorous or spontaneous, performed on stage or in the street, telling a story or exploring a culture, moving from elegant and gentle to powerful and intense. While technology changes lives, it also brings dance right to our "neighborhood."
While awaiting the reopening of performance venues, CCDC presents a new online program, "REW," featuring a series of commissioned works from past editions of the "Jumping Frames – Hong Kong International Dance Film Festival." Audiences are invited to revisit these works through the screen at their fingertips. Each week, image creators will join live online discussions to talk about dance, film, and the journey and future of "Jumping Frames."
The "REW" online free screening lasts for one month, with weekly live talks bringing together film directors, choreographers, and creators from around the world to cross geographical boundaries and interact with audiences in real time. As "Jumping Frames" approaches its 20th anniversary, artists who have participated over the years will gather in this moment to share their experiences witnessing the festival's evolution along the timeline. Drawing nourishment from this retrospective, they will look forward to the "Jumping Frames – Hong Kong International Dance Film Festival" in September.

From now until April 30, 2022, audiences can enjoy eighteen commissioned works from past "Jumping Frames" festivals anytime, anywhere. The films traverse Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, the UK, and other regions, showcasing dancing figures in diverse landscapes. While adversity may limit physical movement, it cannot confine artistic creation and thought. CCDC hopes that through dance films, art can still be brought to our everyday "neighborhood" while we wait.
