Recycling Industry Equipment and Vehicle Funding Scheme

Eligible Applicants

Funding is available for recycling industry enterprises engaged in the collection, sorting, or resource recovery of recyclable waste materials. Eligible enterprises must meet the following criteria:

• Be legally established in the Macao Special Administrative Region.
• Be registered with the Financial Services Bureau for tax purposes.
• Have been actively engaged in the collection, sorting, or resource recovery of recyclable waste materials for one year or more.

Recyclable waste materials refer to waste that can be recovered and reused, including but not limited to waste paper, scrap metal, waste plastic, used batteries, glass bottles, waste oil, and food waste.

Scope of Funding

The scheme subsidizes costs incurred from purchasing equipment and vehicles required for the processes of collecting, transporting, sorting, pre-processing, or resource recovery of recyclable waste materials. This includes costs directly related to the purchase of said equipment and vehicles, but excludes expenses for installation, operation, maintenance, or repair.

• This funding scheme only subsidizes the purchase of brand-new equipment and vehicles.
• Equipment purchased after submitting the funding application is eligible.
• The types of eligible equipment and vehicles, the maximum quantity of subsidies, and the required application documents are detailed on the List of Items Eligible for Subsidy (This phase accepts applications for 20 types of equipment and 1 type of vehicle).

Funding Amount

• According to Article 6, Paragraph 1 of Administrative Regulation No. 32/2018, each eligible enterprise can receive a maximum subsidy of MOP 1.5 million under this scheme.
• Paragraph 2 of the same article stipulates that for each application, the maximum subsidy granted is 50% of the total cost of the purchased equipment and vehicles. However, the total subsidy across different applications must not exceed the amount specified in the preceding paragraph. Therefore, the total funding cap per applicant is MOP 1.5 million.
• If the applied funding amount exceeds the cap, the total will be calculated based on the order of application sites and the list of items in the application form. Sites and items beyond the cap in this order will not be assessed or granted funding.
• Funding is granted based on the applicant's specified order of sites and list of items. When the subsidy for a particular item in this sequence reaches the funding cap, the remaining balance within the cap will be allocated.
