Science fiction literature not only inspires imagination about the future but also ignites the public's passion for innovative technology.
In celebration of World Book Day, the "Reading the Beauty of Sci-Fi: Science Fiction Literature Lecture" will be held on April 23 at Macau University of Science and Technology. The event is jointly organized by the Macao Science Center and the China Writers Association, with the MUST Office of Student Affairs as the co-organizer. Two renowned young science fiction writers from Mainland China, Fei Jia and Yuan Tong, will be present to share insights on science fiction creation and the relationship between technological innovation and the real world. Fei Jia A post-80s science fiction writer and a senior expert in the aerospace industry. He is a nominee for the 21st Pudong Top Ten Outstanding Youth Award, recognized as a "Shining Youth of the New Era in Shanghai 2022," and a winner of the 2nd Tianma Literature Award. He specializes in realistic and technological sci-fi themes. His representative works include Beidou Stars, Critical Path, and Drawing the Sky as a Prison. His works have been selected for key support projects by the China Writers Association.
Yuan Tong A representative post-80s science fiction writer and Vice Chairman of the Hebei Online Writers Association. He has won the 33rd Chinese Science Fiction Galaxy Award for Best Online Science Fiction Novel and the Special Award of the first Qidian Sci-Fi "Morning Star Award." He is known for his light and enjoyable writing style to describe epic, grand science fiction stories. His representative works include Xiling Empire, Abnormal Creature Chronicles, Sword of Dawn, and Deep Sea Embers. His science fiction works have won numerous awards and have been adapted into animations.
