Overview

Since 1995, UNESCO has designated April 23 as "World Book and Copyright Day" (World Reading Day). To celebrate this day, various activities are held around the world. To continuously promote a culture of reading for all and to make reading a lifestyle and a movement, the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Education and Youth Development Bureau, the University of Macau Library, and the Macao Library and Information Management Association jointly organized the 2023 "4.23 Citywide Reading" event.

Event Details

• Date: April 15 – 23, 2023
• Objective: To call upon all Macau citizens to join and support the initiative. During the event period, participants are encouraged to engage in various forms of reading activities at different venues and times.

Goal

The event aims to create a citywide, synchronized reading movement, allowing the fragrance of books to bloom and permeate throughout the entire city.
