A cultural and musical exchange between two prestigious youth orchestras.
John Curro
A tribute to the distinguished conductor and founder of the Queensland Youth Symphony. Fifty-one years ago, he established the orchestra, which has since become a world-renowned youth ensemble and a proud cultural icon of its region. For this achievement, John Curro was awarded an Order of the British Empire. In 2016, the Queensland Government celebrated the orchestra's 50th anniversary with an International Youth Orchestra Festival, where the Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra was honored to participate.
Now, at 85 years old, the Italian-Australian conductor will lead the Queensland Youth Symphony to Macao for the first time for a joint performance with the Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra.
