Pier Garden, established in 1955, is a tranquil green space located next to the Monument Garden, adjacent to the Macau Scout Headquarters and the Taipa Customs Branch. The garden's pillars, beams, and even its flower beds are imbued with the charm of Portuguese architecture. The site was originally the only pier connecting Taipa to Macau. After the construction of the Macau-Taipa Bridge, ferry traffic between the two islands gradually declined, leading to the pier's transformation into the garden we see today, which is how it got its name.
The garden's charm lies in its 'quiet yet vibrant' atmosphere. Inside, it is serene and offers a complete escape from urban pressure. However, just a short walk away leads to the Macau Jockey Club and the new urban district, making it an ideal spot for city dwellers seeking a brief respite.
