Event Overview
Panorama 2018 introduces a major Opening Gala Films segment, featuring four outstanding short films recommended by film festivals from Mainland China, Macao, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The curators from each festival will be present at Cinematheque Passion to meet with local filmmakers and the audience. Come watch films and talk about cinema.

- Recommended by the ifva (Independent Short Film and Video Media Festival) of Hong Kong.
- This animation documents the confusion and reflections of a young Hong Kong gay man fighting for his own and others' rights.
- Winner of the Gold Award (Animation Category) at the 23rd ifva Awards.

The Tea Garden on the Mountain (30 min, Taiwan, Director: Tseng Ying-ting)
- Recommended by the Golden Harvest Awards.
- This short film focuses on the plight of illegal foreign workers in a Taiwanese tea plantation, skillfully using the environment to create a film noir atmosphere.
