"Our Ten-Year Promise" served as the closing performance for the 2016 Macao Cultural and Entertainment Festival. This special multimedia theatre edition incorporated video elements to offer audiences a fresh perspective on a deeply moving story about dreams, friendship, and the passage of time.
The script is adapted from the theatre troupe's most popular works, "Us" and "Them." It tells the story of a group of high school students, passionate about theatre arts, who make a pact to reunite in ten years to fulfill their shared dream.
A decade later, the pressures of "life" have left everyone too busy. After enduring various shocks and hardships of "survival," only one person remains, struggling to keep the dream alive. His pursuit of this dream leads to being left by his lover, financial hardship, and stalled personal development... Can he persevere in the end?
The story spans their lives at ages 18, 28, and 38. It poses the questions: What is the best time to "chase a dream"? What is the best interpretation of "happiness"?
