Open Box 2017 is a theatre festival presenting three distinct and innovative performances: Idiot, Butterflies in the Spring Breeze, and Echoes of our Times. Each show explores unique themes through diverse theatrical forms, from clowning and physical theatre to immersive sound and dance.

Idiot
- Synopsis: Canu Theatre employs clown devices to construct an absurd perspective, taking the audience into a world of stupidity, misunderstandings, and joyful nonsense involving Japanese male escorts, mama-sans, and lots of gags. It celebrates the 'clown spirit' of sharing vulnerability and embracing the foolish.

Butterflies in the Spring Breeze
- Synopsis: A technically challenging piece that deconstructs taboos, recounting the story of a man who discovers his wife had an affair with another woman years before they met. The narrative is enhanced with holographic projections.
