Speaker Biography

Xu Ze is the President of the National Society for Hong Kong and Macao Studies. He has held several key positions, including:

• Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council (2001–2004, 2013–2015).
• Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR (2004–2013).
• Standing Committee Member of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
• Former Member of the Hong Kong SAR Basic Law Committee and the Macao SAR Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

About the Lecture Series

The "Celebrity Public Lecture" is a flagship event organized by the Chinese Cultural Exchange Association. It aims to invite distinguished figures from the broader cultural sphere to share their insights, thereby deepening public understanding of culture, economy, and society. Over the past twelve years, the series has featured over 20 notable speakers, including Master Hsing Yun, former Minister of Culture Professor Wang Meng, former ARATS President Chen Deming, renowned collector and seal engraving artist Han Tianheng, and distinguished Chinese painting and calligraphy historian, appraiser, and artist Professor Fu Shen.
