"The ensemble's performance is exceptionally solid and balanced. The four musicians are on the same high level, and their music-making is intoxicating." – Lucas Hagen, first violinist of the renowned Hagen Quartet.
The Novus String Quartet from South Korea masterfully embodies the intimate, conversational nature of the string quartet genre. This young and emotionally rich ensemble has emerged as a rising star in the international chamber music scene. Founded in 2007, they have won numerous prestigious international awards, including second prize at the 2012 ARD International Music Competition in Munich and first prize at the 2014 Salzburg Mozart Competition. They have performed on renowned international stages such as Carnegie Hall and the Berlin Philharmonie Chamber Music Hall, establishing themselves as one of Korea's most influential chamber groups.
These two substantial concerts will take the audience on a journey through the string quartet repertoire, from Mozart's supreme achievements and masterpieces by Mendelssohn, Dvořák, and Tchaikovsky, to the unique creations of Ravel, Webern, and Britten. Experience the classics of the genre and witness how Novus interprets these works with seamless, song-like harmony.
