About the Production

John Neumeier, who has served as Artistic Director of the Hamburg Ballet since 1973, created this moving two-act ballet as a tribute to the dancer once nicknamed "the God of Dance."

• Choreography: Neumeier's emotional and insightful choreography reflects his unique understanding of his idol.
