Join us for a special book sharing session with Macau author and photographer Wong Man Fai. He will present his new work, Our Home in Lotus Land – Decoding the Culture of Macau's Historic Architecture. Through meticulous research of primary sources in Chinese and foreign languages—including historical records, inscriptions, newspapers, government gazettes, poetry collections, and myths—Wong traces the evolution, religious culture, and festive activities surrounding Macau's historic buildings. With elegant prose and detailed scholarship, he guides readers to appreciate the unique historical depth and cultural value of Macau's architectural heritage. On the evening of January 17th, he will visit our bookstore to share his creative journey and insights into Macau's historic architecture.

About the Speaker

Wong Man Fai is a Macau writer, photographer, and a member of the Chinese Writers Association. He works at the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau and participated in the application process for "The Historic Centre of Macao" to become a UNESCO World Heritage site.
