Macau, a unique region that has experienced a colonial era, a confluence of Chinese and Western cultures, and a mix of Chinese and foreign communities, is dotted with iconic historical buildings belonging to the world's cultural heritage after the baptism of time.
A group of women who love needlework and grew up in this small city use cloth as paper and needle and thread as brushes to paint a patchwork picture belonging to Macau's historical culture. They present the unique historical charm and beauty of the city through the traditional craft of needlework.
Needlework (pronounced 'gong') generally refers to women's sewing and embroidery work. In ancient times, women followed the traditional standards of the 'Three Obediences and Four Virtues,' learning from a young age to use their skillful hands to spin, weave, embroider, and sew to meet the moral standard of 'women's work,' which is needlework.
