To enhance Macau residents' understanding of ballet art and promote cultural exchange between Macau and Mainland China, the 2016 'Into Ballet' demonstration performance, organized by the Macao Foundation, co-organized by Kao Yip Middle School, and performed by the National Ballet of China, will be held on October 11, 2016, at the Kao Yip Middle School Auditorium.
The 'Into Ballet' initiative is a nationwide, long-term project by the National Ballet of China dedicated to popularizing ballet art education. This educational and meaningful public welfare event combines live commentary, demonstration performances, and interactive exchange. First held in Macau in 2006, this marks its ninth year and has been warmly received by all sectors.
Founded in 1959, the National Ballet of China (also known as the Central Ballet) is the country's sole national ballet company. Since 2009, renowned ballet artist Ms. Feng Ying has served as the company's Director and Artistic Director. The company boasts over 110 ballet dancers, numerous professional dance teachers, and rehearsal masters, with many outstanding artists winning accolades at prestigious international ballet competitions.
This demonstration will feature Ballet Master Xu Gang from the National Ballet of China, who will explain ballet genres, performing arts, and techniques, accompanied by demonstrations from national-level dancers, allowing the audience to gain a deeper appreciation of ballet art.
Tickets for the 8:00 PM public session are available for free distribution starting immediately at the Macao Science and Culture Centre (Avenida do Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues, NAPE, Macau).
