Taipa Village Limited proudly presents the "Name Macau's Next Hotspot" Creative Challenge, an exciting competition to give a landmark name to a newly completed property development in Taipa Old Town. Developed by real estate investment management company Lido Limited, this project is set to become a new cultural symbol for the area.
This competition invites the public to name this culturally rich landmark. The chosen name should reflect the building's architectural features and geographical location, while also representing Taipa Old Town's profound historical and cultural heritage. The event offers a cash prize of MOP 10,000 for the winning entry, aiming to foster community participation and jointly transform the area into Macau's most vibrant non-gaming destination.
This flagship property is located on Rua dos Mercadores (Buying and Selling Lane) in Taipa, covering over 30,000 square feet. Its design is inspired by the area's commercial history, perfectly blending historical architectural styles with timeless aesthetics. It features a 50-meter-long facade and comfortable, spacious pedestrian areas. Its comprehensive retail and dining facilities will add another highlight to Taipa Old Town's rich leisure amenities.
The project boasts innovative design features, including a spacious rooftop terrace and flexible layout spaces to accommodate F&B and retail needs. The design details draw from Taipa Old Town's long commercial history, which was once a thriving trade port during Macau's manufacturing era in the early 20th century. The building, converted from an old warehouse, recreates the multi-story Portuguese architectural style of old Taipa. The design concept was jointly developed by architect Daniel Lin from Hong Kong's Yida Architectural Design Co., Ltd. and architect Zhang Qiaojuan from Macau's A Architectural Design Co., Ltd., incorporating local Taipa cultural elements to further strengthen the connection with the community.
Entries must be submitted via the designated online platform. The created name must present the landmark's unique architectural style, design features, or the historical culture of Taipa Old Town. It should possess memorable, precise, positive, and timeless qualities. A panel of five professionals will judge entries based on originality, creativity, relevance to the old town, and other criteria to select one winner.
