Competition Overview
A writing competition inviting participants to share their thoughts and aspirations for the year 2021 under the theme "My 2021". The competition is free to enter and accepts submissions in both Chinese and English.
Competition Categories
- Primary Junior Group (PA): Year/Grade 1–3 students
- Primary Senior Group (PB): Year/Grade 4–6 students
- Secondary Junior Group (SA): Year/Grade 7–9 students
- Secondary Senior Group (SB): Year/Grade 10–12 students
- Open Group: No age limit
Note: The participant's group is determined by their academic year as of the competition deadline. Each entry must not exceed 2000 words (excluding punctuation).
Submission Guidelines
Submission Method
All entries must be submitted online via the official form. The submission file must be in PDF format with a maximum size of 2MB.
For Handwritten Entries
- Write on A4 white paper or manuscript paper (single-sided only).
- Indicate the word count (excluding punctuation).
- Write neatly with a blue or black ballpoint pen.
- Scan or photograph the work clearly and submit it as a PDF.
- The original physical copy must be kept safely until the competition concludes (after awards and certificates are received). The organizing committee may request the original copy for verification, judging, or exhibition purposes at any time during the competition.
For Computer-Written Entries
- The original creative file must be kept safely until the competition concludes.
- Save the work as a PDF (max 2MB) for submission.
- The organizing committee may request the original file for verification or judging at any time.
General Rules
- Participants may submit multiple entries, but each registration can only include one work.
- Each work can only be submitted once for this competition.

- Complete your entry.
- Prepare the appropriate electronic file of your work.
- Fill out the online form and upload your work simultaneously.
- After submission, check your email for a confirmation and note your participant number.
- Keep the original physical copy or source file safe and be ready to submit it if requested.

Awards
Each category will have one Champion, First Runner-up, and Second Runner-up. There are unlimited quotas for Gold, Silver, Bronze, Merit, and Participation awards.
Winners are eligible to apply for award certificates, medals, trophies, or plaques. Please note: While entry is free, there are fees for applying for physical awards.
Award Application Fees
- Certificate: HKD $50 (includes local registered mail or courier)
- E-Certificate (PDF): HKD $50 (emailed, option for non-local participants)
- Medal: HKD $50 (includes local registered mail or courier)
- Trophy or Plaque: Styles and fees announced upon official application. Generally, trophies cost around HKD $180 (includes local registered mail or courier).
Additional postage fees apply for awards shipped to non-local addresses.
Judging Criteria
Judges will score entries based on the following:
- Content & Structure: 50%
- Language & Rhetoric: 40%
- Typos & Punctuation: 10% (0.5 points deducted per error, up to 10 points max)
Award Tiers Based on Score
- Champion: Top scorer in each category
- First Runner-up: Second-highest scorer
- Second Runner-up: Third-highest scorer
- Gold Award: 90 points or above
- Silver Award: 85–89 points
- Bronze Award: 80–84 points
- Merit Award: 70–79 points
- Participation Award: 69 points or below
Payment Methods for Awards
- Bank Transfer: Deposit to HSBC Hong Kong account 801-544172-838, account name: Superior Culture.
- FPS (Fast Payment System): FPS ID: 161085527.
- Overseas/Non-HK Participants: May apply to pay by credit card via a payment link sent by email.
After payment, winners must complete the online application form (link provided with results email) and upload proof of payment.

Competition Rules
- The competition follows the "General Competition Rules" of Superior Culture and the specific rules of this event.
- By entering, participants agree to all rules.
- Submitted works may be displayed or exhibited by the organizer at any time without further consent.
- The organizer reserves the right to disqualify entries for plagiarism, infringement of rights, or inappropriate content (e.g., pornography, violence).
- All fees paid are non-refundable under any circumstances.
- The organizer holds final decision-making authority over participant eligibility.
