Bid farewell to the tumultuous year of 2020 and welcome 2021 with a vibrant New Year's Eve concert! MOWAVE gathers a diverse lineup of local musicians specializing in electronic, folk, and pop music for a special "out with the old, in with the new" celebration.
Japanese musician AKI Fukushima started learning piano influenced by his mother and is skilled in guitar, bass, and drums. He now focuses on modern classical music, composing for stage plays, visual media, and film scores. He released his first film music-themed solo album in 2017, and his music was selected for the trailer of the 2020 Taiwan Golden Horse Film Festival.
Macao electronic musician BURNIE has released 5 records on UK labels like Slime, Tumble Audio, and Downplay since 2013. His tracks have been featured on radio stations and music websites worldwide, including UK's Rinse FM and Sub FM, Czech's Radio 1, and received a high 9/10 rating from UK music magazine IDJ Magazine.
Electronic musician OOBE has been fully dedicated to music creation. In 2020, he released the 5-track album "Prophecy" under the local label 4daz-le Records. Through grand thematic structures, the album seems to prophesy the profound transformation, erosion, and rebirth brought by electronic technology to human development post-2020.
Local Macao Handpan band Náv consists of Dave Wan and Manuel Variz. In January 2020, the band performed at the Macao Fringe Festival, playing their first original song live. They are currently preparing their debut album, aiming to expand their creations by incorporating other instruments like Asalato and Didgeridoo.
A local Macao female singer-songwriter with a diverse musical style spanning Jazz, Rock, R&B, Electronic, and Alternative music. She has performed with several local and Hong Kong bands (e.g., MoodEntrance (MO), On the other side (HK)) and is actively collaborating with various musicians for creation and performances.
"Avidya" means ignorance and delusion. The band name serves as a warning. This five-piece local band blends rock styles from the 70s and 80s. They won third place in the 2018 Classic Rock Interpretation Competition, their song "Mockingbird" was selected for the 16th TDM Top New Songs Awards in 2018, and they have performed at numerous local events.
