What kind of road is the Silk Road, a route that spanned millennia and connected Europe and Asia?
There were no roads in the beginning. A road is formed when enough people tread upon it.
Walking across the timeless desert, people journeyed in solitude and met along the way. Such encounters could be the sharing of a flask of warm wine, or a head-on collision of iron and blood, fire and fury. The wine cools, the fire dies, but the footprints remain, solidified upon the desert sands.
A road, it turns out, is merely the layered overlap of countless footprints. Each footprint holds a deep longing; each footprint pulses with a person's destiny. Brush away the drifting sands and gather the footprints—what joys and sorrows, loves and hatreds lie within!
