The "Moon Over Macao" Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration Series, held from August 23 to September 9, 2014, offered a variety of festive activities for citizens. The program included lantern-making workshops, moon-viewing events, evening performances across various districts of Macao, and the large-scale ballet "Haojiang Moonlight Night - In Search of Shangri-La", aiming to create a festive and memorable Mid-Autumn Festival for all.
Co-organized by the Macao Astronomical Society, the "Mid-Autumn Moon Viewing Night" allowed citizens to observe the moon through large astronomical telescopes at the Taipa Waterfront Promenade Cycling Track Plaza. Participants were encouraged to use public transportation.
On the nights of September 7, 8, and 9 (Welcoming, Appreciating, and Chasing the Moon), multiple Mid-Autumn celebration events were held across the Macao Peninsula, Taipa, and Coloane. These included:
Each event featured fantastic stage performances of nostalgic golden oldies, variety shows, singing, dancing, and Chinese opera. Citizens were welcome to attend with family and friends to enjoy the lively atmosphere and celebrate the festival.
