Macau's first-ever event themed on creative design education, the "Second MODSA WEEKEND 2022: OPTION," will be held on December 17 (Saturday). Organized by the Macau Overseas Design Student Association (MODSA), the event aims to provide practical overseas study information and portfolio guidance for Macau students interested in or planning to study design abroad. It also offers opportunities to meet industry designers, access information on international design institutions, learn about the latest trends in the design field, cultivate self-improvement habits among local students, and co-create a talent community.
Focusing on relaxed inspiration exploration and spreading creative ideas, the event provides practical and inspiring themed lectures for current design students, those interested in overseas design studies, and friends planning to study abroad. It will feature several designers with overseas study experience, who have returned to Macau after graduation, sharing their experiences studying design abroad, their design careers back in Macau, challenges encountered, and moments of passion. Unlike traditional formal lectures, the event adopts a popular creative dialogue format, fostering easier creative conversations and thought exchanges in a relaxed atmosphere.
In addition to targeted design lecture sharing, the event will feature a "One-on-One Portfolio Review Session," guided by designers from various fields, offering tailored professional advice for students from different design disciplines who are interested in learning about studying abroad.
The Macau Overseas Design Student Association (MODSA) was founded by a group of Macau designers who graduated from overseas design programs. It aims to establish a community for designers currently studying abroad and those who have returned to Macau, building networks with local and overseas design institutions to provide resources and benefits for students studying design abroad. The association regularly collaborates with various professional design groups in Macau, using community value to assist the industry in promoting development, hoping to gather more local design talent through its functions.
