Legendary Cello Maestro: An Unparalleled 'French' Musical Feast

World-renowned cello master Mischa Maisky will perform in Macau in December. Known for his delicate, poetic tone, passionate performances, and brilliant technique, Maisky will join his daughter, pianist Lily Maisky, on stage. Together, they will present a romantic program featuring works by French composers Gabriel Fauré, César Franck, and Francis Poulenc, as well as Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla.

Maisky is the only musician in history to have studied under both Russian cello giants Mstislav Rostropovich and Gregor Piatigorsky. Born in Latvia and educated in Russia, he later moved to Israel and has since become a globally beloved classical music star. An exclusive artist for Deutsche Grammophon, he has collaborated with renowned pianists like Martha Argerich and top orchestras including the Vienna Philharmonic and Berlin Philharmonic. His recordings have won numerous awards worldwide.

For this Macau recital, Maisky and his daughter Lily will offer a fresh interpretation of classic repertoire, combining the rich, full sound of the cello with the beautiful tones of the piano to create an unforgettable musical experience.
