Impulsive, reckless, righteous, helpful... Rational, cunning, meticulous, calculating... Selfish, hedonistic, lazy, greedy... Mischievous, timid, childish, curious... Narcissistic, loving, infatuated, positive...
A group of ghosts is hiding behind you. Have you ever thought that catching ghosts might mean catching yourself?
The self is tightly wrapped up, encased by repression, desire... or perhaps a warm quilt? Recognize them: timidity, irritability, rationality, narcissism, laziness... Any one of them could be dragging at your heels, causing you to walk backwards even when you're trying to move forward. The ghosts of all shapes and forms are, in fact, the various versions of "me." Ultimately, the multitude of ghostly shadows are none other than external rules failing to correspond with the balance of the heart. Interpreting oneself might only require the fewest words, the most direct body language, and a not-too-large theater. In short, this unknown "me" must find a way to coexist with the ghosts behind.
Inspired by the film Mad Detective, the literature The Minds of Billy Milligan, and the manga Homunculus, the locally created mime Which Ghost Is It? is directed by Chan Nga Cheng. It explores human psychological activity through the power of silence, aiming to use diverse mime styles combined with physical theater and multimedia sound effects to offer a grand透视 of ghost-catching. The performance style is humorously eerie, a rare sight in Macao's theater scene.
