Overview

A science fiction stage play, Memoirs of the Last Human, is adapted from the novel of the same name by Macau writer Deng Xiaojiong. The Hiu Kok Drama Association invited four local playwrights to create four distinct sci-fi short plays inspired by the original work. These pieces explore the intricate intersections of future technology and humanity, questioning the various possibilities of the rise and fall of human civilization.

About the Project

“Imagining the Future: AI Generation – Sci-Fi Literature x Theatre Creation and Performance” is a cross-year project by the Hiu Kok Drama Association. It advocates for "caring for the world and humanity's future through theatre and literary creation," promotes cross-disciplinary and cross-artistic collaboration, seeks more developmental possibilities while balancing Macau's literature and theatre, and continuously raises questions about the potential changes future technology may bring to human life, emotions, and thoughts.
