Overview

Majiaoshi Fort Park is built on the slope of Majiaoshi Hill. It is primarily constructed with stone steps, pavilions, corridors, and platforms, spanning both sides of the hill and connecting to the Majiaoshi Fort at the summit.

Historical & Cultural Significance

The Majiaoshi Fort, also known as Queen Maria II Fort, was built around 1851–1852 to assist Mong-Ha Fort in strengthening the northeastern border defense. It was destroyed by US military aircraft during World War II in 1943 and was later restored alongside the construction of the nearby Communications Museum. The interior of the fort is currently not open to the public.

Visitor Experience

Although entry into the fort is not permitted, visitors can view this cultural heritage site from the wooden suspension bridge at the fort's entrance within the park. The park offers scenic views of the reservoir at the eastern end of Macao, the NAPE area, and the 'Sea Corner Wandering Clouds' landscape, making it a pleasant and picturesque tourist destination.
