Welcome to the exhibition of award-winning works from the "Mailing Memories" All-Macao Youth Mixed Media Art Creation Competition. Hosted by the Cultural and Creative Think Tank Association, this competition invited young artists to create artworks based on the theme of nostalgic mailboxes, blending tradition with creative elements.
The competition was divided into two categories: Student Group and Open Group, with participants aged 13 to 29. Each category awarded one champion, one first runner-up, one second runner-up, and five merit awards.
The judging panel praised the participants for their creativity and ability to combine traditional and innovative elements to create unique mailbox artworks.
The award ceremony and exhibition opening were held on December 18, 2012, at 6:30 PM. Distinguished guests included representatives from the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Macao Post, and the Macao Art Association.
According to the organizer, the competition aimed to help young people explore the city's precious memories, deepen their understanding of Macao's past and present, and foster a sense of belonging. It also sought to guide, assist, and nurture talented youth toward careers in the cultural and creative industries.
The competition encouraged the use of mixed media, including cutting, sewing, three-dimensional modeling, collage, photography, filmmaking, and painting. The organizer plans to collaborate with the award winners to develop creative products based on their designs.
The event was sponsored by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Macao Creations, Choi Heong Yuen Bakery, and On Yiu Paper Products.
