Macau Information and Communication Technology Startup Plan Competition 2014
The Macau Innovation Technology Center (MANETIC) will host the Macau Information and Communication Technology Startup Plan Competition 2014 (InnoICT Startup Plan Competition 2014). This competition aims to cultivate more creative enterprises in Macau and promote the development of innovative information and communication technology. The competition is designed for tertiary students. MANETIC will provide winning teams with a genuine opportunity to implement their business plans, offering a series of rewards and software/hardware support in collaboration with various organizers, sponsors, and supporting units.
Competition Objectives
- Encourage and promote innovative thinking among Macau's tertiary students.
- Foster innovation and development in local ICT, supporting students in realizing their entrepreneurial ideals.
- Strengthen cooperation and communication between the ICT industry and the education sector.
Team Composition
- Teams must consist of 1 to 5 students, who can be freely combined from different tertiary institutions.
- At least half of the team members must hold a Macau Resident Identity Card. Macau students studying abroad may team up with local students.
- Past winners of this competition are not eligible to participate.
- Teams may invite advisors for guidance on competition matters and plan preparation.
- The business plan presentation must be conducted in Macau.
- The business plan must be related to information and communication technology.
Key Dates
- Registration: April 1 – June 20, 2014 (Online)
- Workshop: July 2, 2014 (Mandatory attendance)
- Plan Submission: By 5:00 PM, August 1, 2014
- Finalist Announcement: August 11, 2014
- Final Competition: August 16, 2014 (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Awards Ceremony & Banquet: August 18, 2014 (12:30 PM)

(*) Note: Winning teams must establish a company and commence their startup plan in Macau to receive the startup capital and incubation services. If the champion team forfeits, the benefits will be passed to the next eligible team that establishes a company.
(#) Training Vouchers:
- 1st Place: MOP 1,500 in vouchers
- 2nd Place: MOP 1,000 in vouchers
- 3rd Place: MOP 500 in vouchers

Registration & Submission
- Registration Period: April 1 – June 20, 2014 via the official website.
- Submission Deadline: By 5:00 PM, August 1, 2014.
- Submission Address: Macau Innovation Technology Center (7/F, Macau Square, 43-53A Avenida do Infante D. Henrique, Macau).
- Required Materials:
- One printed copy of the business plan.
- A digital copy of the business plan on a CD or DVD.
- (Optional) A business plan introduction video of no more than 5 minutes.
- The list of finalists (up to 10 teams) will be announced on the official website on August 11, 2014.
Additional Information
- A business plan template is available for download on the official website.
- Each plan should not exceed 30 A4 pages (including images, charts, and appendices) and can be written in English or Chinese.
- Digital files must be submitted in .pdf or .doc format on a CD or DVD.
