Indie Films. Indie Scenes!
The Macau Independent Film Festival 2014 (MindieFF) brings a diverse selection of independent cinema from around the world to the heart of Macau. Organized by the Ieng I Chi (Macau) Film Association, this inaugural festival celebrates the spirit of independent filmmaking.
The festival opens with a focus on "Indie Classic," featuring three seminal works by John Cassavetes, hailed as the father of American independent cinema:
Macau: Showcasing award-winning local short films that reflect social consciousness and humanistic themes.
Hong Kong: Featuring films previously unseen in Macau.
Other Asian Regions:
Taiwan: A curated selection of works by emerging independent filmmakers, recommended by the South Taiwan Film Festival.
In collaboration with 10 Fantasia Creative Industries Incubator, the festival will host an outdoor screening in their garden performance area.
Beyond screenings, MindieFF aims to build a platform for dialogue. Several directors and producers will be invited for post-screening talks and sharing sessions, fostering direct exchange between creators and the audience. The festival seeks to blend international independent film culture with Macau's unique local artistic atmosphere.
