Strolling through the streets of Macau, beyond the colorful Portuguese-style architecture, the large-scale thematic murals hidden in various districts are equally captivating. The murals showcasing the old and new faces of the Inner Harbour and the visually striking 3D mural in Taipa's Scenic Lane are particularly perfect for visitors to take photos.
Local muralists Lam Ka Hou and Chung Wai have created 25 exquisite murals themed around the livelihood of the Inner Harbour. These works showcase the characteristics of the Inner Harbour's blend of old and new, as well as the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures, adding a rich cultural and artistic atmosphere to the traditional community.
The mural is located on the stone steps of Scenic Lane (near the Old Firecracker Factory) on Rua do Governador Tamagnini Barbosa in Taipa Old Town. Created by local artists Wong Chi Fung and Hang Tan Wai, they utilized the height of the steps to create a 3D effect, depicting vividly colored Southern European-style houses and cute, lively kittens, complementing the leisurely atmosphere of the old town's residential area.
