Event Information

• Organizer: Macao Youth Music Association
• Co-organizer: University of Macau Students' Union Music Society
• Objective: To promote Macao's original music, discover and nurture musical talent, and provide a platform for music enthusiasts.
• Target Participants: Macao youth aged 12 to 28.
• Event Format: All submitted works will be accepted as competition entries. Promotional videos for all participating groups will be uploaded to the competition's Facebook page. The number of 'Likes' on each video, counted at 12:00 AM on June 6 (the day before the finals), will account for 50% of the final score. The remaining 50% will be based on live judging by three judges on the finals night, June 7. Final rankings will be determined by the combined total score.

• Champion: Trophy and cash prize of MOP 15,000
• 1st Runner-up: Trophy and cash prize of MOP 8,000
• 2nd Runner-up: Trophy and cash prize of MOP 5,000
• Best Performance Award: Certificate and cash prize of MOP 1,500
• Most Popular Award: Certificate and cash prize of MOP 1,500
• Online Popularity Award: Certificate and cash prize of MOP 1,500

Registration Guidelines

• Eligibility: The competition is open to Macao residents aged 12 to 28, primarily targeting local university and secondary school students. Composers and lyricists must be aged 12 to 28, while there is no age restriction for vocalists/band members.
• Documents Required for Registration:
  • Promotional video for the competition song (must include the full song)
  • Completed song and accompaniment in WAV and MP3 formats
  • Copy of identification document
  • One promotional photo
• Application Deadline: May 30, 2014. Participants must complete this form and email their entry to [email protected] by this date. Late submissions may be disqualified.

Competition Rules

1. Submitted songs must be original local works.
2. Composers, lyricists, and arrangers must be aged 12 to 28. No age restriction for vocalists/band members.
3. There are no restrictions on the genre of the song.
4. Lyrics can be in Chinese, English, or a mix of both.
5. Lyrics must not contain inappropriate content.
6. Participants must ensure their work (song and/or lyrics) has not been published, broadcast, made available to the public, or publicly performed in any form prior to the competition. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify such entries.
7. The Macao Youth Music Association reserves the right to use the submitted songs for all activities and related promotions of this event.
8. Participants must attend all related activities and programs of this competition.
9. The organizer reserves the right to determine the judging method.
10. The organizer retains the final decision on all disputes.
11. Participants must ensure all information provided in the application form is accurate.
