Following a decade of development, the Macao Orchestra (OM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macau, presents a new concert season featuring high-quality performances by internationally renowned musicians. The 2013-2014 season kicks off on September 14 with a performance by the virtuoso pianist Cyprien Katsaris, known for his masterful interpretations of Liszt's works. The season includes over thirty diverse programs, ranging from classical symphonies to chamber music and opera premieres.
The season opens with Cyprien Katsaris, hailed by the New York Times for his "intense personality" and technique that "surpasses all contemporary piano schools." He will perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor with the orchestra under Music Director Lü Jia.

The repertoire spans works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Mozart, and Stravinsky. A special highlight is the Macau premiere of Stravinsky's chamber opera "The Soldier's Tale." The Chamber Music Series at the Dom Pedro V Theatre offers an intimate setting to appreciate the musicians' artistry.
