About the Competition
The Macao International Institute, standing firm in its unconditional commitment to safeguarding Macao's heritage and encouraging youth to learn about Macao's history—both tangible and intangible cultural heritage—is organizing the "Macao Heritage" Photography Competition. The following are the competition rules and regulations.
Competition Details
- Objective: To encourage young people to explore and gain knowledge about Macao's cultural heritage.
- Eligibility: Open to all holders of Macao Resident Identity Cards.
- Categories: The competition is divided into two categories:
- Student Category: All youth enrolled in primary, secondary, or tertiary education institutions before August 31 of the current year.
- Open Category: All holders of Macao Resident Identity Cards.
- Participation: Contestants may enter one category or both.

- Submission Deadline: August 31, 2015

- Liz Photo Equipment (57B Rua da Praia do Manduco / 616 Avenida da Praia Grande)
- Long Ying Laser Digital Printing (1A Rua dos Mercadores)
- Heng Xing Digital Printing (G/F, 331 Rua Nova de Areia Preta, Macao) / (G/F, 93 Rua de Nanquim, Taipa)
- Entry Specifications:
- Print size: 20.3cm x 25.4cm (8"x10") to 20.3cm x 30.5cm (8"x12")
- Must be mounted on 25.4cm x 30.5cm (10"x12") black card.
- Must be submitted together with a digital file (image resolution not less than 4 megapixels).
- Minimum compression is recommended for maximum image quality.
- Submission Package: All entries must be placed in a sealed envelope with the completed entry form. The envelope should be marked "Macao Heritage Photography Competition." On the back of each photo's black mount, please write the entry number, title, name, contact phone number, and competition category.
Rights and Usage
- All submitted works will not be returned and will become the property of the Macao International Institute, regardless of winning status.
- By entering, participants grant the Macao International Institute the right to exhibit, edit, publish, display, promote, and use the works for publicity, online publication, posters, and other purposes without further consent or compensation.
- Participants are responsible for any copyright, portrait rights, or reputation rights issues related to their submitted works.
Judging and Awards
- Judging Panel: Composed of five members, including representatives from the organizing bodies and professionals.
- Awards:
- Each Category (Student & Open): Three winners will be selected.
- First Prize: MOP 5,000
- Second Prize: MOP 3,000
- Third Prize: MOP 1,000
- Special Award (selected by AFDM): MOP 1,000
- Merit Awards (selected by Macao International Institute): Approximately several awards of MOP 500 each.
- All Participants: Will receive a certificate of participation.
- Results & Award Ceremony: The results announcement and award ceremony will be held in the last quarter of the competition year.
- Exhibition: The Macao International Institute will select works for a photography exhibition, with the date to be announced separately.
Disqualification
Any participant who fails to meet the requirements or violates any provision of these regulations will be disqualified.
