The Macao Gaming Research Conference 2017 is held in the form of a 4D role-playing debate competition. The event aims to increase students' awareness of social issues. By incorporating role-playing, participants are encouraged to put themselves in others' shoes, learn to think from different perspectives, understand various societal viewpoints on Macao's gambling issues, and collect diverse opinions to promote the development of services for the prevention and treatment of gambling disorders in Macao.
Before the competition, all teams must participate in a preparatory workshop. Instructors use drama performance techniques and the "Experience–Reflection–Explanation" process to help students reflect on their personal values regarding gambling disorder issues, stimulate their thinking, and assist them in exploring the positioning of various roles in the debate topic.
Participating teams are organized by school, with each school allowed to send one team. Discussions are based on topics set by the organizing association. Each debate is divided into 4 roles, with each team playing one role. Teams must express their role's position within a time limit. Judges score each team's performance, and the top 2 teams from each preliminary debate will advance to the next round of finals.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and watch the debate competition.
*Successfully registered participants will receive an SMS or email notification from the organizer before the event.
