Hailed as Shakespeare's most bloody and violent creation.
Renowned Hong Kong director Tang Shu-wing has been presenting different versions of Titus since 2008, with numerous tours both locally and internationally. In August, the team performed in Macao for the first time, stripping away all sets and props to achieve a minimalist aesthetic. The performance uses the body to interpret the condensed violence within the text.
Titus 2.0 transforms the bloody violence of Shakespeare's classic into powerful physical movements and textual discourse. It abandons stage elements such as set installations, costumes, and props, returning everything to zero for a reimagined experience. This allows the actors to reclaim physical expression beyond language, using effective body language to present the performance's immense energy and trigger astonishing explosive power. Titus 2.0 is boldly unconventional; Tang Shu-wing's courage and innovation are unique. It would not be an exaggeration to call this one of Hong Kong's most representative theatrical works of the past decade.
