Introduction
The Macao Communications Museum, under the jurisdiction of the Post and Telecommunications Bureau, integrates cultural, scientific, and technological characteristics to form a museum rich in experimental and interactive features. The museum's belief is "Dare to try, dare to discover."
Opened on March 1, 2006, the Macao Communications Museum is a place where visitors can experiment and learn while being entertained.
Main Objectives
- Serve the citizens of Macao, especially primary and secondary school students, by promoting philatelic culture and popularizing telecommunications science and technology.
- Become a museum in the field of telecommunications that allows visitors to interact, explore, experiment, satisfy, and develop their potential.
- Promote philatelic techniques and Macao stamps to both local citizens and tourists.
Exhibition Layout
The museum's exhibitions are divided into two main areas:
- First Floor: Postal and Philatelic Exhibition Area – This area collects systems, technological artifacts, and equipment used in the development of long-distance communications. It showcases stamp collections and postal instruments closely related to the history of the Post and Telecommunications Bureau.
- Second Floor: Telecommunications Exhibition Area – This is an extremely interactive zone in the museum. In addition to displaying telecommunications equipment connected to the historical development of the Post and Telecommunications Bureau, it gathers scientific exhibits on themes such as electromagnetism, static electricity, direct current, alternating current, telegraphy, telephony, radio broadcasting, information processing, transmission, analog electronics, and digital electronics. This helps visitors understand the development of communication media, technology, and cutting-edge science.
The Macao Communications Museum, which balances knowledge and entertainment, aims to contribute to our knowledge-based society.
