Overview

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the promulgation of the Macao Special Administrative Region Basic Law and to promote the Basic Law through creative expression, the Macao Basic Law Promotion Association is organizing the "2023 Macao Basic Law Four-Panel Comic Creation Competition." The competition aims to deepen public understanding of the Basic Law. The submission deadline is July 31, 2023. All are welcome to participate. The event is sponsored by the Macao Foundation.

Competition Details

• Eligibility: Open to Macao residents holding a Macao Resident Identity Card, or individuals aged 12 or above holding a student card.
• Categories: The competition is divided into an Open Category and a Student Category.
• Submission Rules:
  • Each participant can only enter one category.
  • A maximum of 2 entries per participant.
  • Top three prizes (Champion, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up) cannot be awarded to the same participant for multiple works.
• Artwork Specifications:
  • Can be black & white or color.
  • Can be hand-drawn or computer-generated.
  • Must be printed or drawn on white A3 paper (29.7 cm x 42 cm).
  • No framing required.
  • The four-panel comic must be numbered 1 to 4 in sequence. Panel sizes can vary according to the creative content.
• Submission Method: Participants must submit their artwork along with a completed entry form to the Secretariat of the Macao Basic Law Promotion Association, located at the front ground floor of Man Tak Building, No. 4-6 Rua de Tomás Vieira.

Prizes

• Open Category:
  • Champion: MOP 5,000 + Certificate
  • 1st Runner-up: MOP 4,000 + Certificate
  • 2nd Runner-up: MOP 3,000 + Certificate
  • Selected Awards: MOP 2,000 + Certificate
• Student Category:
  • Champion: MOP 4,000 + Certificate
  • 1st Runner-up: MOP 3,000 + Certificate
  • 2nd Runner-up: MOP 2,000 + Certificate
  • Selected Awards: MOP 1,000 + Certificate
