About the Orchestra

Founded in 1904, the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is one of the UK's oldest and most prestigious symphony orchestras. It is the resident orchestra at London's Barbican Centre, performing over 120 concerts annually worldwide. Renowned for its excellence in concert performances and as a world-leader in film and television soundtrack recordings, the LSO was the official orchestra of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The orchestra is led by Principal Conductor Valery Gergiev and Conductor Laureate André Previn, and regularly collaborates with top soloists.
