About the Orchestra
Founded in 1904, the London Symphony Orchestra is one of the UK's oldest and most prestigious symphony orchestras. Celebrating its 110th anniversary in 2014, the LSO is renowned for its excellence and innovation. It serves as the resident orchestra at London's Barbican Centre, performs over 120 concerts annually worldwide, and was the official orchestra of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The orchestra is led by Principal Conductor Valery Gergiev and Conductor Laureate André Previn, and frequently collaborates with top soloists.
